The Happy Tourists

Following great tours in 2023 and 2024, to Isle of Wight and Somerset, Vice-Captain Bill Greenway once again organised a very successful tour to Bournemouth for 2025. A party of bowlers from Lilleshall, St.Michael's BC and Guilsfield BC, spent four nights away in Bournemouth, taking in five matches and having a great time.

Captain Sheila presented losing rinks with Mickey Mouse© ears - to be worn at all times lest a fine became due - and top rinks received bags of sweeties (modesty prevents the webmaster from admitting how many pounds he gained during the week).

We were transported in comfort by Laguna Coaches and enjoyed comfortable rooms and great food at the Laguna Hotel.

Not only did "The Bard" not write a tour ode, but he was also without his guitar, as the hotel featured professional entertainment each evening. However, new tourists were still required to join in singing the great Fred Wedlock song "The Vicar & the Frog" - with actions! One new tourist evaded this initiation - Suzanne Kaleta, your time will come!

Lilleshall managed to win three of the five games, though one by just a single shot.
