Twelve members took to the green on the hottest day of the year (at that time) to contest the Jack Bayliss 4-wood drawn pairs competition. With such hot weather and bright sun a short format was used to allow time for breaks between rounds. The six pairs played each other in a round-robin tournament with each round consisting of just four ends.
After two rounds there were two unbeaten teams, with Paul Mitchell and Rob Attwood just ahead on shot-difference. However they fell back in subsequent rounds. Runners up, with three wins and a draw from their five games, were Peter Hancock and Rod Payne and the winners, unbeaten with five wins, were Liz Caird and Quentin Smith. Competition history
