Wednesday 6 July saw the green very busy as the Club hosted a visit from local Women's Institute groups. The WI ladies, joined by a number of their husbands and partners, were arranged into teams of four that played up and down the green to fixed jacks. Bowls stopping within two meters of the jack scored a point, those within a yard received a second point and a third point was on offer for a 'toucher'. (The strange mix of metric and imperial measurements was simply down to the available measuring sticks).
Much fun was had, despite a chilly wind, and on completion of two circuits all retreated to the clubhouse for a warm drink and wonderful WI cakes.
