Nineteen members took to the green to celebrate Captain's and President's Day and play the very competitive Ladies-v-Gentlemen game. The weather was kind and a huge donated raffle was in place to extract cash from the players. There were a couple more gentlemen available than ladies, so Mike "Michaela" Bradburn was seconded to play for the ladies.
The afternoon opened with a 'spider' - won by Captain Sheila! - followed by 16 ends of triples. The gentlemen started strongly and were some 20 shots ahead at one point. However the ladies fought back strongly after the refreshment break, and for a while were a few shots ahead, but the gentlemen rallied and on completion of the 16 ends they had won by 2 shots (41-39) - the closest result in the history of the Perpetual Trophy.
Match fees were added to the proceeds of the raffle and spider and a grand total of £177.50 was raised for the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund.
