Only ten members were available to compete for the National Sports Centre Cup 2-wood drawn pairs competition. Each team played all the others in a round-robin format over games of 8 ends.

Fortunes were mixed, with teams winning 4, 3, 2, 1 or no games. Everything depended on the final game with two teams in contention. Dave Aveley and Rod Payne needed at least a draw otherwise Mark Hussell and Rob Attwood, who were sitting out their bye in the final round, would win on shot difference. Dave and Rod were 4-6 down with three ends to play but managed to pick up three singles to win 7-6 and take the title.

The win was Dave's first at the club and Rod's fourth in this competition. The record for the NSC Cup is still held by Pauline Scott with five wins (1988, 1995, 1997, 2001 and 2003) previous results.

President Kath Matthews made the presentation to the winners.
