For the first time the Jack Borrett Cup - mixed triples competition - was played as a full league rather than a one-day competition. Six teams contested fifteen games with just one (which had no bearing on the overall results) being abandoned as a draw because of rain. This competition is traditionally a charitable event, so each of the eighteen players contributed £5 of which half was added to the Captain's and President's Charity fund and the remainder given as prizes for the winners and runners-up.

Teams A and C (Liz Caird, Colin Meadows & Mark Hussell and Rob Attwood, Ruth Lowe & Quentin Smith respectively) bubbled up to the top of the table and it took the last game between teams C and D to determine the winner. Team A had four wins from five and a superior shot difference, so with four wins under their belt team C needed at least a draw to secure the title - which they managed with a 19-7 win. Team A finished runners-up. (Previous winners). Club members can view the full league results by logging into the members' page via the "rink bookings" link.

The new format seems to have been popular, so may be repeated next season, hopefully with more teams taking part.
